INGERSOLL RAND 1287 500 HP MODULAR RIG (Ref#1152N)

The accumulator unit for the BOPs is arranged on a console installed at the reserve mud tank.

Drawworks

The Ingersoll Rand drawworks, model 1287, is driven by a Detroit Diesel engine, type 12V-71-N, of explosion-proof design according to OCMA-regulations.

Workover Pump Unit

The Halliburton pump HT 400 is driven by a Diesel engine 12V-71-N, also explosion-proof according to OCMA-regulations. This set is located in the lower part of the substructure and can easily be removed through an opening provided for this purpose in case the lift weight has to be reduced.

Safety Equipment

The rig is equipped with gas and fire detectors.

In addition to an automatic sprinkler system for certain rig areas, a hand-operated cooling-fire-fighting system is provided for the preventor stack. A battery-aided emergency lighting system is available.

To prevent damages to the environment, drains are installed underneath rig floor, pipe rack area and rotary table. These drains are connected with the platform drainage system via hoses or pipes.

Mast

The Salzgitter offshore mast type GT 125/31 is designed for a hook load of 275,000 lbs with 8-line string-up. It is free-standing and can resist winds of 130 miles/hr. without hook load and drill pipe load in the derrick. The mast consists of 2 sections: the lower section is mounted in vertical position onto the rig floor by platform crane; the upper section is erected by drawworks and sling lines and then telescoped. The mast can accommodate doubles; a traveling block guide is also provided.

Rig Floor

The rig floor – 14 m long, 7 m wide – accommodates the drawworks with complete drive, the rotary table and the pipe rack. The doghouse is located at the rear. A separate platform attached to the rig floor carries the cable spooler. Due to this arrangement the cable spooler is at rig floor level ensuring safe operation.

A noise protection wall is installed between the Diesel engine driving the drawworks and the working area of the rig floor. The rig floor rests on the strongbacks and is skidded on these at a right angle to the platform skidding beams by means of hydraulic cylinders.

Substructure

The substructure consists of 4 box-type beams, two each on top of each other. These are connected by a jacket framework and the two strongbacks.

The lower boxes accommodate the Halliburton pump unit and the active mud system on one side, and the reserve mud system and the centrifugal pump for mud mixing on the other.

The upper boxes accommodate solids control equipment, degasser and choke manifold on one side and mud mixing equipment, mud agitators and low-pressure piping system on the other.
